Cities Today Features C40 Cities & Rolls Out New App

The October issue of Cities Today – a global magazine for urban policymakers – features C40’s East Asia Regional Director Yan Peng, who authored an article on climate solutions in China.

Peng highlights the potential for cities in China to embrace low carbon strategies through a program called “Low Carbon Pilot Cities.” As part of China’s long-term carbon emissions reduction goals, Low Carbon Pilot Cities positions cities and provinces as incubators and testing grounds for different climate solutions. The article discusses some of the issues related to carbon measurement and planning, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities associated with that process.

Another article in this issue showcases the C40 & Siemens City Climate Leadership Awards held at the Crystal in London in September. The article focuses on how cities can share their own solutions – citing Mayor Boris Johnson’s quip to fellow mayors gathered at the event that “we in London will shamelessly steal your ideas!”

This month also marks the rollout of Cities Today’s new app, available for a limited time for free, with digital versions of the magazine.
