Hong Kong Announces First-Ever Green Building Week

Last week, the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) launched Hong Kong Green Building Week, to take place September 7-14, 2013.

The week – which represents Hong Kong’s first-ever public campaign surrounding green buildings – will feature a number of programs designed to promote green building development, public awareness of green buildings and highlight individual actions that citizens can take toward greener lifestyles.

Mr. Wong Kam-sing, JP, Secretary for the Environment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, officiated at the launch ceremony on August 1, along with other local leaders and partners. Hong Kong residents and business owners are encouraged to participate in activities in the lead-up to the week by visiting the campaign site (in Chinese) here and Facebook page here.
