Local U.S. Officials Participate in National Resilience Campaign

This week, nearly fifty elected leaders of major cities and counties in the United States – including C40 Mayor Vincent Gray of Washington, DC – signed a pledge to protect their communities from extreme weather fueled by climate change.

Four environmental and development groups are coordinating the campaign, including ICLEI USA, the U.S. counterpart of C40 partner ICLEI. Much like their peers in the C40 network, the members of the Resilient Communities for America campaign are focused on taking cost-effective action to both adapt to climate change and call for greater support from federal leaders.
