C40 director of communication, Mike Marinello will participate in an online live chat hosted by The Guardian entitled “Healthy Hearts in City Environments,” in honor of Valentine’s Day. The chat will focus on how to build and design cities that encourage a healthier quality of life for its citizens.
This week finds the C40 Sustainable Communities Initiative team in San Francisco at the US Green Building Council’s Greenbuild Expo. This annual event is regularly described as the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. With more than 30,000 attendees, it certainly feels that way. The risks and impacts of climate change are top-of-mind in the wake of Hurricane Sandy’s devastation, and it has been very empowering and invigorating to be surrounded by so many motivated and like-minded individuals committed to developing a sustainable future for our built environment.
C40 Observer City Singapore is playing a leadership role in addressing the future of sustainable cities. On July 1-4, 2012, Singapore will host the World Cities Summit (WCS), a biennial global event that brings together urban leaders and experts across sectors to exchange ideas, forge new partnerships and address cities’ unique problems and challenges.
