    Hundreds of buildings to participate in London’s retrofit plan

    London Mayor Boris Johnson’s plan to retrofit the city’s public buildings is hitting a new milestone. Four hundred buildings are on track for being retrofitted under the innovative program, the Mayor’s office said today, with one hundred of those participating in the program by May of this year.

    London’s Landmark RE:FIT Program

    London, the founding C40 City, continues to lead the way on implementing innovative climate mitigation solutions.The Mayor's RE:FIT climate change program is helping hundreds of public buildings to get an energy makeover and save energy costs, following a £2.7 million boost from the European Investment Bank and the Mayor. The funding will pay for a team to support the program, and could help organizations retrofit up to 600 buildings with energy efficiency measures.

    Expert Voices: Kulveer Ranger, Director of Environment for the Mayor of London

    London Mayor Boris Johnson is "totally committed" to bringing 100,000 electric vehicles to London, his environment advisor, Kulveer Ranger, said. Charging networks are a key component of this effort, and the city is looking to add 1,300 charging points throughout the city by 2013.
