Shenzhen carbon emission trading system

Shenzhen became the pilot city in China to officially begin using carbon trading on 18 June  2013. Carbon trading in Shenzhen has now achieved clear results after more than four years of pilot work, demonstrating that carbon trading can directly promote the emission reduction of enterprises and cities. The carbon emission control system in Shenzhen included 824 units in 2016, and by 4 January 2017 the accumulated total volume and turnover of allowance trading on the Shenzhen carbon market was around 18.07 million tons and RMB 596 million respectively.
