C40 Financing Sustainable Cities Forum 2016
About the Event
We are pleased to announce the inaugural C40 Financing Sustainable Cities Forum to take place on 5 April 2016. The Forum is hosted by the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group and the City of Rio de Janeiro, with the support of the Citi Foundation and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. This is a first-of-its-kind global finance forum to accelerate climate action in cities.
The Forum will include a series of presentations, panel discussions, and opportunities for networking. It is designed to inspire action, highlight innovation, and create networks to accelerate climate action in cities through improved financing. Key decision makers from C40 cities, state and national governments, non-government organisations, financial institutions, and the private sector will meet in Rio de Janeiro to collaborate on practical steps to scale up finance for sustainable urban services.
For more information, please see logistical details below, or read the media release.

A partnership to deliver sustainable urban solutions
The event is part of the Financing Sustainable Cities Initiative, an initiative of the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities and C40 Cities, funded by the Citi Foundation, focused on helping cities develop business models that can accelerate the implementation of sustainable urban solutions. The Initiative consists of three key components: the development of a learning community, the provision of technical assistance, and the delivery of an online engagement platform.
