Deadline 2020: Creating Peaceful and Equitable Cities

April 20, 2017 Madrid, Spain

On April 20, and as part of the World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace, in Madrid, C40 are hosting a one hour side event: ‘Deadline 2020: Creating Peaceful and Equitable Cities.’

During this event, C40 mayors, city representatives and key Spanish environmentalists, will discuss the effects of climate change in their cities and the crucial role for cities in tackling climate change, focusing on the projects that cities can lead that will deliver sustainable and equitable cities for future generations. The event will be moderated by Mr. Simon Hansen, C40 Director of Regions, who will also present the key findings from C40’s Deadline 2020 research report.

C40’s Deadline 2020 report, launched late last year at C40’s Summit in Mexico City, reveals precisely what the world’s most important cities must do in order to deliver on the ambition of the Paris Agreement and prevent the most devastating effects of climate change.

This side event forms part of the programme for the World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace, and is open to all registered for the Forum.
