Accelerating Climate Action Through City-Business Collaboration

The CBCA provides the most ambitious city and business leaders with a platform to convene, set joint commitments, co-create, and implement projects that help cities deliver on their Climate Action Plans in line with the Paris Agreement.

Mayor Khan - London:

“London’s dynamic businesses are essential to achieving net-zero by 2030 and creating a green, fair and sustainable city. This is part of my plan for a Green New Deal that will support our economic recovery from COVID, tackle the climate emergency and close the gap on inequalities in our city”.

City-business partnerships have huge potential to reduce emissions on a greater scale than the city or individual businesses could manage alone, by maximising the assets of each actor and implementing the ambitious, coordinated local climate action needed to secure an inclusive, climate-safe future.

Mayor König Jerlmyr - Stockholm:

"For cities to deliver the bold and brave climate action desperately needed to secure future generations' wellbeing, sustainable business has to be at the heart of the transformation. Businesses, with their in-depth knowledge and financing solutions, have the power to leverage cities' performance, turning them into resilient and inclusive hubs of green innovation."

The CBCA operates a two-tier global model: closely supporting cohorts of cities in building city-business partnerships from conception to long term self-sustainment, while convening a wider network of cities and global businesses to share expertise, advocacy and learnings. In so doing, the initiative drives both concrete city-level action and systemic transformation on a global scale.
