The Creditworthiness Network supports C40 cities to overcome the major barrier that creditworthiness presents in financing sustainable infrastructure and delivering on city climate action plans. A Creditworthiness Academy, delivered in partnership with the World Bank will work with cities to understand the major credit challenges they are facing, and support cities to develop action plans to address these challenges. The Creditworthiness Network, will continue to bring cities together to share solutions, address common challenges and implement good practice, aiming to support cities to achieve a recognised credit rating
Empowering cities economically – particularly those in developing countries – to take climate action will not only improve the lives of urban citizens, but also will help nations close the emissions gap on the Road to Paris and beyond.
The C40 Creditworthiness Academy and Network will allow cities to access the capital needed to finance infrastructure projects to reduce both carbon emissions and climate risk.C40 Chair and Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes
