Gisela Provasi serves as Senior Manager for the C40 Sustainable Waste Systems Network, supporting C40 cities in emissions mitigation in the waste management sector and building resilience and equity through their municipal waste management systems. Gisela’s work is mainly focused on cities in the Global South regions, working on topics such as achieving universal collection and safe disposal and diversion of organics and recyclables from landfills for treatment.

Gisela also acts as a youth mentor at Youth Climate Leaders, has completed training with The Climate Reality Project and is a lawyer registered at the Brazilian attorney association (OAB/SP).

She holds a law degree from the University of Sao Paulo and a master’s degree from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Sustainable Development, Environmental Management and GIS (DDMEG). Gisela speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and has been learning Arabic MSA.
