As the Head of Innovation, Julia fosters innovation in our cities and our organisation, developing new support and leadership programs as well as supporting the identification of best practice innovation across the network of cities for global dissemination. Programs like Thriving Cities Initiative which pioneers ways for cities to build actual models of sustainable urban living and Invest Divest a powerful lever of change that is yet to be mainstreamed. In collaboration with Doughnut Economics Action Lab Julia led the development of downscaled version of Doughnut Economics for cities and C40’s Climate Action Planning Framework for compatibility with the Paris Climate Agreement, both in collaboration with C40 cities and was instrumental in developing the global CAP Program and since DK2020 national deployment program in Denmark, a model that can be replicated globally. Before joining C40, Julia wrote the City of Sydney’s Industry Sector Sustainability Plans for tourism, commercial office and residential buildings; led business partnerships for the NSW Government; and managed the Corporate Responsibility Index in Australia and New Zealand. Julia has a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in international development.
