Mariana is a Fundraising Manager at C40, responsible for coordinating relationship management with C40’s funders, identifying new funding opportunities, connecting with and following up with prospective funders, assessing funding needs across the organization, and ensuring the internal processes for screening and approving incoming grants are met.

Prior to that, she was the Transportation and Urban Planning Project Officer, responsible to help support Green and Healthy Streets Declaration cities progress their commitments, and to support the team meet all our ambitious targets. Previously, Mariana worked as an intern for C40’s Executive Director’s Office, supporting the Executive Director and the team with briefings, presentations, and research. At C40, Mariana is a Mental Healthy First Aider and a part of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Advocacy Group. Since her internship, Mariana manages the organisation and delivery of a monthly all-staff call and offers ad-hoc translation support organisation-wide.

Mariana holds an MSc in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. For her Master’s thesis, Mariana undertook an independent three-month research project in Thailand, investigating how small and medium enterprises perceive climate change risks and how they act upon them, which resulted in a publish article in the International Development Planning Review Journal. Mariana holds BA in International Relations from the University of Westminster. She’s fluent in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English and has intermediate knowledge in Italian.
