    35 Finalists Chosen for Fourth-Annual C40 Cities Awards

    Today, C40 announced the 35 finalists competing in ten urban climate action categories for the fourth-annual C40 Cities Awards, sponsored by Bloomberg Philanthropies and BYD. The winners will be announced on December 1, 2016, at a ceremony in Mexico City, held alongside the sixth biennial C40 Mayors Summit.

    C40 Cities Featured for their Climate Action and Leadership at Public Exhibition in Paris

    Today, C40 Chair-Elect, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo launched “Cap sur la COP22,” a public exhibition that showcases actions cities, citizens and local businesses take every day to combat climate change. In the large photograph installations along the Seine river, “Cap sur la COP22” highlights the accomplishments a number of C40 cities have achieved since the Paris Agreement and the challenges that lie ahead.

    Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo Elected as New C40 Chair

    C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group announced today in Rio de Janeiro that Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has been elected to succeed Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes as C40 Chair. The C40 Steering Committee elected her unanimously to the position, where she will provide strategic direction and governance to the organization.
