We are gearing up for the first-ever C40 Latin American Mayors Forum, hosted by C40 and the City of Buenos Aires on Friday, March 27.

The event will bring together more than 15 mayors and representatives from more than 20 Latin American cities to demonstrate bold leadership in the global fight against climate change. Authorities from financial organisations, policy-makers and influential thinkers will also be in attendance.

A packed programme features C40 Chair Mayor Eduardo Paes of Rio de Janeiro, Mayor Mauricio Macri of Buenos Aires, Mayor Gustavo Petro of Bogotá and former President of México Felipe Calderón, who will announce joint agreements on urban transportation and the Compact of Mayors. Panel discussions on the Compact of Mayors, cities’ creditworthiness and access to finance will further support the delivery of city climate efforts on the ground.

Stay tuned for more news and coverage on the day. As always, be sure to follow @c40cities on Twitter, and follow the conversation with hashtag #ycities.

Members of the press wishing to register for the press conference at the event may contact Media@c40.org.
