Daniel serves as Director of Research, Knowledge and Programmes, managing C40’s strategic research and impact assessment. He also oversees the implementation of major climate action programmes. Before that, he served as director of C40’s transport programme, advancing work on zero emission areas and establishing the Green and Healthy Streets Leadership Forum.

Daniel has nearly 20 years of experience working in city government in Stockholm, London and Vancouver, and as a consultant to city governments in multiple regions. He has led strategy, policy, and implementation of major urban planning, transportation, climate action and innovation projects in various global regions. He has a track record of implementing complex and politically sensitive projects including traffic restrictions, urban densification, and road user charging.

Daniel has a Master’s degree in urban planning, having studied at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (the Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm.
