As Jefa de Gobierno Clara Brugada highlights, “Hoy la Ciudad de México tiene la gran responsabilidad de diseñar nuevos modelos de desarrollo que sean bajos en carbono y tengan el menor impacto en la naturaleza y en la sociedad. En esta ciudad hemos diseñado una política climática ampliamente reconocida por su ambición y por su compromiso en la construcción de nuevas rutas de desarrollo sustentable. En línea con los objetivos del Acuerdo de París impulsamos acciones basadas en la evidencia científica de la emergencia climática y del rol de los gobiernos subnacionales en limitar el aumento de la temperatura media mundial a 1.5 °C para final de siglo. Esa es la tarea de todas y todos.”
“Today, Mexico City bears the great responsibility of designing new development models that are low-carbon and have the least possible impact on nature and society. In this city, we have designed a climate policy widely recognized for its ambition and its commitment to building new paths for sustainable development. In line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement, we promote actions based on scientific evidence of the climate emergency and the role of sub-national governments in limiting the increase in global average temperature to 1.5 °C by the end of the century. This is a task for each and every one of us.”
