The new E-Bus Radar tool brings together information on public electric bus procurement processes completed to support governments in making informed decisions and accelerating fleet electrification.
12 August 2026 – E-Bus Radar, the leading platform for monitoring electric bus deployment across Latin America and Africa, today launches the E-Bus Procurement Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The new tool compiles and organizes information on completed public electric bus procurement processes, providing a knowledge base to support governments, public transport operators, and other stakeholders involved in the transition to electric mobility.
By making structured and comparable information available, the Observatory enables users to analyse different procurement models adopted across the region, helping identify best practices and supporting decision-makers in designing new electric bus procurement processes.
At launch, the E-Bus Procurement Observatory includes information on 20 procurement processes across 13 cities in 8 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition to the database, the platform features case studies of leading initiatives in the region, including Santiago (Chile) and São Paulo (Brazil), cities that are at the forefront of electric bus adoption in Latin America and offer valuable lessons for other local governments.
The Observatory was developed through a collaboration between the ZEBRA Partnership, co-led by C40 Cities and the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), strengthening efforts to expand access to high-quality information and accelerate the decarbonization of public transport across the region.
