Today, mayors, business leaders and climate experts came together across London to kick off London Climate Action Week 2026.

From tackling climate disinformation to unlocking investment for cities, leaders explored how collaboration across government, finance and technology can accelerate the transition to a cleaner and more resilient future.

A new way to tackle disinformation

In a digital world where outrage is rewarded more than accuracy and falsehoods spread faster than facts, cities are facing a growing challenge – climate disinformation.

Today, C40 Co-Chair Mayor Sadiq Khan announced the launch of City Climate Facts, a new initiative that will help cities understand, pre-empt and respond to climate disinformation and coordinated online attacks that threaten public trust.

For the last decade, I have worked tirelessly to clean up London’s dangerous air. Today I’m targeting another form of toxicity polluting our lives: the malicious falsehoods of disinformation.

By providing cities with tailored advice, monitoring and support, City Climate Facts will help leaders protect and advance climate policies that improve health, reduce costs and protect the environment.

Because if cities are to take bold climate action, they must earn and build public trust.
