Crispus Nyaundi is the Project Manager for the African Cities for Clean Air (AC4CA) initiative within C40’s Air Quality Programme, supporting 12 African cities in designing and implementing evidence-based air quality policies and connecting them with the financing needed to deliver clean transport projects.

Prior to his current role, Crispus served as Climate Change and Air Quality Monitoring Officer at Nairobi City County Government, where he supported the drafting of the city’s Air Quality Regulations, coordinated the expansion of Nairobi’s air quality monitoring network with international partners, and served as the focal point for donor-funded climate programmes with C40, the World Bank, WRI, and UNEP. His work contributed to the development of Nairobi’s comprehensive city-led air quality governance systems.

Before entering the climate and air quality space, Crispus spent eight years as an Environmental Health and Safety Officer in Kenya’s private sector, where he designed and implemented integrated management systems and led environmental compliance programmes. He has also conducted environmental and social impact assessments across multiple sectors in East, West and the Horn of Africa.

Crispus holds a Master’s in Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainability) from Kenyatta University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is fluent in English, French, and Swahili.
