José serves as Senior Manager, Communications, Brazil at C40, where he leads strategic communications for the Brazil Multilevel Implementation Program, driving visibility for climate implementation and multilevel partnerships. He is responsible for designing and delivering the programme’s communications strategy, and he works closely with the Brazilian Federal Government, mayors, and key partners to shape narratives and coordinate high-impact actions across local, national, and international platforms.

Prior to this role, José worked in the C40 & GCoM Joint Program, leading digital communications on CHAMP, Finance, and Data pillars, and served as the comms liaison with the COP30 Presidency. He also led regional communications for the GCoM across the Americas, covering Latin America, Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Earlier in his career, he worked in municipal climate communications in Brazil, in corporate communications at BMW and Bosch in Spain, and as a journalist for media outlets in Madrid and London.

José holds a Master’s in Marketing with a specialisation in Consumer Behaviour and Sustainability from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Media from Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid.
