Marina serves as Senior Manager, Regional Engagement, and provides support to the Regional Director and Regional Deputy Director in Latin America in ensuring the delivery of the Brazil Program is aligned with C40’s Regional Business Plan and delivers C40’s strategic and programmatic priorities across the 13 cities in the region, and particularly with the C40 cities in Brazil, while also making sure to align engagement efforts with GCoM cities.
Marina joined C40 in 2023 as part of the CFF team, where she served as Knowledge Manager. In this role, she supported the structuring and roll-out of CFF’s landmark City Academy on Finance and Equity (CAFE), the Financing Inclusive Climate Action Academy (FICAA), and other key support activities for our cities. She was also a key member of CFF’s Equity and Inclusion working group, supporting the mainstreaming of this approach in city projects. In addition, she recently served as CFF’s Regional Engagement Manager for Latam, supporting the city selection process in the region for CFF’s fourth phase.
Before joining C40, Marina was the Technical Director of Despacio.org in Colombia, where she led consultancy projects that promote urban development and sustainable urban transport in Latin America. She co-founded the Mujeres en Movimiento – Women in Motion (WIM) Initiative in 2018 and has coordinated it since then to strengthen women’s leadership through training, network building, and research. She has also worked in Brazil at FGV Projetos and ISER on regional and participatory urban planning.
Marina holds an M.Sc. in Urban Management from the Technical University of Berlin, and a BA in International Relations from PUC-Rio.
