Marta Stencel

As Global Leadership Manager, Marta supports the Inclusive Climate Action team in global advocacy efforts, showcasing mayoral leadership on equity and inclusivity. In her previous position as Women4Climate Manager, Marta supported cities in launching mentorship programmes and worked towards building a strong community of women delivering urban climate action. Prior to joining C40, Marta worked at the Women’s Environmental Network (Wen) as a Campaign Officer supporting their Environmenstrual campaign that raises awareness about plastic and harmful chemicals in mainstream period products. Marta graduated in International Development from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Her thesis looked at the nexus between public participation in urban greening projects in San José, Costa Rica and environmental justice.
