Today, ten winning cities were announced for the C40 and Siemens City Climate Leadership Awards. The inaugural event took place this evening in London at The Crystal, the home of Siemens sustainable cities initiative.
In keeping with his commitment to “electrify” Bogotá’s transportation system, Mayor Gustavo Petro organized a workshop on May 17 to discuss the logistics of increasing this C40 City’s hybrid and electric bus fleet.
A few years ago hybrid buses were just technologies for wealthy countries. A couple of years ago battery electric buses were just a luxurious dream. Today, C40 cities like Bogota, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Santiago de Chile can tell the world that those low carbon techs are ready to run in these cities, and for good.
