In 2027, Benevides will introduce a structured organic waste management system across its 41 schools, serving around 10,741 students, with separate collection of school meal waste and a central composting unit at SEMAGRI.
The programme will turn organic waste into high-quality fertiliser for local production and the Municipal Nursery, while strengthening environmental education and technical skills across the school network.
