In 2027, Rio Branco will expand its Municipal Programme for the Reduction and Recycling of Wet Waste by modernising and increasing the capacity of its existing composting system. By diverting 15% of citywide organic waste from landfill to composting, the initiative will cut pollution and emissions, extend landfill lifespan, create green jobs, and transform illegal dumping sites into productive spaces.
