October is an exciting month at C40! Keep an eye out, our mayors will be announcing ambitious plans to build the greener, healthier and inclusive cities of our future.
The first-ever Together4Climate event – taking place in Paris on October 22nd – will bring together mayors of the world’s great cities and leaders of the world’s most influential companies in an effort to make our communities cleaner, healthier and more sustainable, while simultaneously growing the green economy and promoting innovation.
The need for action is urgent – in order to make the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement a reality, cities and businesses must collaborate. C40 mayors know from experience that working together is the best way to build a more sustainable future for all, and building bridges between cities and businesses is the next step.
Discussions will focus on three policy areas that have the greatest potential to deliver on the ambition of the Paris Agreement for both cities and businesses: mobility, energy and urban planning.
In addition, on Monday, October 23rd, members of our Steering Committee will meet in Paris to discuss the path forward and reveal exciting new plans to address urban mobility, leading the way to a greener and healthier future. The C40 Steering Committee is comprised of 12 leading mayors who help set the tone for global climate action in cities. Our mayors know that advocating for walking, cycling and shared transport makes for healthier people, healthier cities and a healthier planet.
Hear from our mayors who will be attending this exciting event: Steve Adler of Austin, Miguel Ángel Mancera of Mexico City, Anne Hidalgo of Paris, Secretary for the Environment KS Wong of Hong Kong.
