Astrid serves as C40’s Senior Manager of Climate Budgeting, a programme supporting cities to improve their governance systems to operationalise and deliver climate targets. Astrid is seconded from the City of Oslo, where she previously worked for the Urban Environment Agency. She was responsible for following up the City of Oslo’s Strategy for Reduced and Sustainable Consumption with its annually revised action plan. In this position, she led an inter-municipal consultation group that developed measures and collaborated with researchers to develop indicators within the field. Astrid worked closely with Oslo’s Climate Agency to further develop the climate budget to include indirect emissions.
She also has experience from several environmental NGOs, working on circular economy projects in collaboration with businesses, civil society and academia, and international development projects and humanitarian work. Astrid holds a Master’s in International Environmental Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
