Cristina Argudo serves as City Adviser for Quito, Ecuador as part of the Climate Action Planning project in Latin America. She will be responsible for engaging stakeholders, facilitating knowledge transfer with C40 and consultants to provide high quality customized technical assistance and support local efforts for long-term climate action planning in the city.
Before joining C40, Cristina previously worked for 3 years as an Environmental Analyst in the Climate Change department of the Secretary of Environment in Quito. During her time there she worked very closely with sustainability and climate change city networks following the city´s international commitments and facilitating access to technical assistance programs and finance for the implementation of climate action. She participated in the development of the GHG emissions inventory, climate planning with CURB tool and was part of the pilot process for the MER Framework. Furthermore, she was responsible for engaging different stakeholders in climate change participatory processes. Cristina has additional experience in project management and coordination working in international organizations such as the UNDP, and local NGOs.
Cristina holds a MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Biology and Environmental Sciences from Trent University in Canada. Currently she is undergoing a graduate specialization degree in Cities, Climate Change and Leadership at FLACSO University in Ecuador.
