Njenga serves as the C40 Deputy Regional Director for Africa, supporting the Regional Director and the C40 Steering Committee cities to ensure C40 is responsive and provides effective assistance to its member cities in Africa.
Prior to his current role, he worked as the City Advisor for Nairobi, as part of C40’s UCAP Climate Action Implementation (CAI) Programme. Through engagement with city officials and other key stakeholders, he was responsible for driving the implementation of Nairobi’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) and mainstreaming climate priorities into policy.
With a background in urban planning and city governance, he has experience in government relations, strategic partnership building, climate advocacy, and project management.
Njenga holds a Master’s in City Planning and Real Estate Development from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelor’s in International Business Administration from United States International University – Africa.
