Pedro Bastos serves C40 as the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) E-bus Mission Manager in the LATAM region, engaging cities in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia transitioning to electromobility in their bus-based public transit systems.

Before joining C40, Pedro worked for the Institute of Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) as a public transport analyst in Brazil. Prior to ITDP, Pedro helped create and launch the E-BUS RADAR platform when he belonged to the Laboratory of Sustainable Mobility team (at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ).

Pedro holds a BA in Public Administration and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the UFRJ. He is now a PhD candidate in Urban Planning at the same university, investigating innovative political arrangements for low-carbon public transit systems in Brazilian cities. In addition, Pedro is an urban photographer in his spare time who loves cooking and cycling.
