As Senior Manager for Research and Communications, Chiara leads the further development of the C40 Centre for Urban Climate Policy and Economy. As a connecting point between the C40 Centre and the C40 Communications department, she helps equip mayors with the narrative and science they need to win the argument to stop climate breakdown.
Prior to joining C40, Chiara worked in communications for Amanda Levete Architects, the sustainability team at University College London and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s Forestry and Timber section.
Chiara has an MSc in Politics and Communications from LSE, an MPhil in Latin American Studies from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Spanish and English literature from the University of Edinburgh.
Amira plays a leading role in managing the end-to-end strategy and delivery of the Joint Programme events, such as UNGA and COP28, bringing together key stakeholders to further urban climate action and showcase the achievements of the Joint Programme.
Previously, Amira worked for the Commonwealth Secretariat, where she was responsible for the convening of a portfolio of pan-Commonwealth Ministerial Meetings, played a leading role in the planning and delivery of the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali and the Commonwealth Leaders Event as part of the official Coronation programme of HM King Charles. Amira has worked with many host governments, advising on multiple protocol and logistical elements from communique negotiations to official photographs, greeting parties and event production. Amira has a BA in French and Italian Literature from the University of Oxford and an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Vishnee Sauntoo is the Director of Brand, Creative and Digital Content at C40. As part of the Communications team, Vishnee leads the Brand, Creative and Digital Content team and is responsible for creating, maintaining and consistently optimising an ambitious brand, creative and digital content strategy for C40 to engage our audience and take digital communications to the next level.
Vishnee has more than 20 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector in the UK, working on international development, health, gender, ageing and humanitarian issues. Before joining C40, Vishnee was Head of Communications for Age International, supporting older people worldwide and leading Communications for humanitarian crises such as the recent Turkey-Syria earthquake and the Ukraine conflict. Vishnee has previously worked for the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, Save the Children, the British Heart Foundation and No Smoking Day.
Vishnee has a Governance and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion background and is a Trustee for the CharityComms Board of Trustees.
Reuben Lim is the Deputy Head of Global Media at C40. Based out of Singapore, he supports C40’s global communications efforts in promoting city-led initiatives to tackle climate change.
Reuben has over seven years of communications expertise in international development and humanitarian emergencies. He possesses extensive field experience and enjoys working with communities on the ground to highlight their stories.
Before joining C40, Reuben was the communications chief at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Myanmar and IOM, the UN Migration Agency in Thailand where he led strategic communications, media engagement, crisis communications, social media, events, and government liaison.
Sam is Digital and Social Media Manager at C40. As part of the Communications team, Sam works closely with the Brand, Creative and Digital Content team, as well as members of the wider organisation, to create a strong brand for C40. Keeping global reach and local relevance in mind, Sam is key in helping conceptualise, strategise, and create engaging content that connects with C40’s target audiences and key stakeholders.
Sam has over 10 years of experience in content. She began her career as a print journalist in 2010 before diving into the world of digital writing, and then expanding her skill set to include areas such as social media management. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Murdoch University.
Emily is C40’s Senior Manager of Strategic Communications, Partnerships & Insights. In this role, she is responsible for developing and executing priority communications campaigns, growing C40’s partner portfolio, supporting the development of data-driven communications, and building the brand with a global audience.
Prior to joining C40, Emily worked at George Washington University, where she managed creative projects for university-wide initiatives and events. Before joining GW, Emily was the Marketing Manager at American Forests, a longstanding conservation organization that creates healthy and resilient forests across the U.S. In this role, she managed communications across various digital channels and worked with internal and external partners to build support for American Forests’ work.
Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Strategic Communication from Ohio University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management from George Washington University.
Zermina is the Interim Director of Strategic Communications and Press Secretary to C40 Chair, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and is part of the Communications team. She is based in London, UK.
As part of her role, she oversees the strategic communications and media team. She also leads communications strategies for C40’s key milestones and events.
Zermina is a key connection point between C40 and the London Mayor’s Office. She leads on opportunities to further the reach and influence of the C40 Chair, raising his profile as a climate leader and showcasing the positive impact of his work as Chair.
Prior to joining C40, Zermina led communications teams in local and national government. She is fluent in four languages and holds an undergraduate degree in Law.
Rolf Rosenkranz serves as C40’s Head of Global Media. In this role, he leads efforts to position C40 and C40 mayors as global climate leaders and build their profile on a local, regional and global stage.
Rolf has more than 10 years of experience empowering governments, civil society and media to save and improve lives through effective multi-platform campaigns and policy change. Prior to joining C40, Rolf was associate director of communications at the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, overseeing and guiding impactful policy, advocacy and communications campaigns to improve health, nutrition and epidemic preparedness across Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. As founding editor of the Devex newsroom, Rolf created and built a cutting-edge news and information platform for the global development community.
Rolf has served in a number of advisory roles, including with the UN Refugee Agency, Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data and Global Health Strategies.
Ernesto is the Communications Manager for the UCAP CAI Programme at C40. He coordinates communication activities and visibility strategies, working across the 15 cities supported by the programme and liaising with different teams across C40.
Before joining C40, Ernesto worked at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office at the British Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, where he led strategic communications to climate diplomacy, science and innovation bilateral programmes in Brazil funded by the UK government. Prior to that position, he worked with international marketing tourism promotion of Brazil aiming at foreign consumer markets in Europe and in the US.
Ernesto graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais with a BA in Communication Studies, Journalism and TV/Radio Broadcasting, and holds a Postgraduate diploma in Tourism Business Management from the University of Brasilia. He is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Beth is Digital Content and Web Manager at C40. As part of the global Communications team, she works alongside the Brand, Creative and Digital Content team to create, curate and provide strategic guidance for content across C40’s digital channels. Beth is responsible for project managing websites and web development projects, digital comms and marketing, and delivering analytics and reports to optimise C40 content and the organisation’s digital presence.
Before joining C40, Beth was Communications Coordinator at the European Respiratory Society, where she developed and actioned comms strategies for campaigns and international events, led the organisation’s media activities and managed social and digital comms channels. Before this, she worked as Digital Content Editor for Sheffield Hallam University and as an Editorial Intern for a local magazine.
Beth holds an MSc in Science Communication from the University of Manchester and a BA in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Sheffield.
Laure serves as Senior Creative Manager at C40. As part of the Communications team, she works in close collaboration with the Brand, Creative and Digital Content team and members of the wider organisation. Laure is responsible for leading on the design and development of a variety of digital assets for C40, and brings creative and innovative ideas to reach new and existing audiences.
Since joining C40, Laure has worked on improving the brand identity and launching a new website to strengthen the organisation’s brand awareness and help position C40 as a leading voice in the global climate conversation.
Laure has over eight years of experience developing creative concepts and visual strategies within design and animation studios. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic and Media Design from the London College of Communication, UK.
Cornelia von Einem serves as Senior Team Coordinator for the global Communications team and works closely with the Brand, Creative and Digital Content team and wider organisation. Based in Paris, Cornelia provides daily support to the Director of Communications, and serves as a key member of the team, helping to coordinate and structure meetings and agendas with internal and external stakeholders. She also liaises with Les Canaux, a metropolitan hub for innovation and economic solidarity and the location of C40’s Paris office. Cornelia has held administrative and customer-facing positions in private and public-sector organisations in France, after working as a picture editor in scientific book publishing, where she developed a keen interest in environmental issues. She has lived in Venezuela, Germany, and Japan before moving to France, and speaks German, French, and English (and is now brushing up on her Spanish!).
Christopher is the Head of Strategic Communications and Partnerships at C40.
In this role, he develops and oversees strategic communications strategies for C40’s key moments and projects throughout the year. He also cultivates relationships with senior stakeholders from partner organisations, and helps identify, secure and grow partnerships that can deliver on strategic objectives for the C40 brand.
Before joining C40, Christopher was the Director of Communications at American Forests, the oldest national conservation organization in the U.S., where he led communications activities for the organization’s key policy issues and urban and wildland forest restoration efforts. Prior to that position, he worked at Casey Trees, a community forestry nonprofit in Washington, D.C. Christopher graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, and minors in European Studies and French.
Alicia serves as Digital and Social Media Manager for C40. In this role, she is responsible for taking C40’s presence on social media and digital platforms to the next level, and increasing the visibility of both C40, and our cities’ work.
Alicia helps to further strengthen C40 as one of the leading voices in the global climate conversation, and connects our organisation with audiences around the world through creative and engaging content on new and existing platforms.
Before joining C40, Alicia worked as a journalist for newspapers across the UK, covering live news and producing content for digital and social media platforms.
Alicia holds a BA in Journalism Studies from the University of Sheffield, UK, and is accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).
