    Vice President Biden calls on more U.S. cities to commit to the Compact of Mayors

    Today, while speaking at the National League of Cities Congress, Vice President Biden announced that 83 U.S. cities have committed to the Compact of Mayors – leaving just 17 cities to go to fulfill the White House challenge for 100 U.S. cities to commit to the Compact before the start of the COP21

    Chinese Megacities Guangzhou and Nanjing Join C40’s Global Network

    Together these two cities represent nearly 20 milion urban citizens.

    Today, during the U.S.-China Climate Leaders Summit in Los Angeles, the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group announced the addition of Chinese megacities Guangzhou and Nanjing to its global network of cities tackling climate change and driving urban action that reduces both greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks, whilst increasing well-being for urban citizens.
