    Houston Building Retrofit Program: Tranche 2 Results

    The City of Houston’s retrofit program covers a portfolio of 271 city buildings encompassing 11 million square feet. Similar buildings are grouped into sub-projects, or tranches, and retrofit together; the implementation of each tranche is phased over time. This particular case study provides an overview of the Schneider Electric/ T.A.C.’s and Siemens’ Tranche 2 retrofits. The retrofit program became a keystone of former Mayor Bill White’s commitment to transform Houston from “energy capital” of the world to the “energy conservation capital” of the world and has since been a foundation element for current Mayor Annise Parker’s sustainability initiatives.

    More buildings plan green makeovers with Retrofit Chicago

    Nine months since its inception, Retrofit Chicago’s Commercial Buildings Initiative is set to double in size. Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Wednesday that 18 new buildings will participate in the program, bringing the total area to over 28 million square feet.

    Multifamily Case Study: 1700 California Street

    June 26, 2012 San Francisco

    1700 California Street is a combined residential and commercial building in San Francisco. Twenty-one tenants occupy five floors of commercial space. The property management acted promptly after hearing about the potential energy savings in lighting retrofits in order to take advantage of the financial incentives being offered through the program.

    Lee College Building Retrofit Case Study

    June 4, 2012 Houston

    Lee College worked with the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) to develop and implement a best practices Energy Savings Performance Contracting project with Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI). The project is designed to save approximately 30% of annual energy costs when complete.

    City of Houston Building Retrofit Case Study

    June 4, 2012 Houston

    With the support of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), the Houston mayor’s office developed and implemented a large-scale energy efficiency retrofit program to address all city buildings using CCI’s best practices energy performance contracting methodology. The city government has set a goal of reducing its energy demand from buildings by at least 25 percent through the program.
