    Cities continue to show commitment to low emission bus fleets by signing onto the C40 Clean Bus Declaration

    Momentum continues to grow for new bus technologies among C40 cities. With the recent addition of Changwon, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, 26 cities have now signed on to the C40 Clean Bus Declaration, demonstrating the market potential for these new technologies to manufacturers. Signatory cities will have over 175,000 buses in their fleet by 2020, and have committed to switching over 45,000 of these to low emission.

    Curitiba: A Leader in Transport Innovation

    The City of London recently hosted the first-ever Clean Bus Summit, which brought together city transport officials, manufacturers and other stakeholders to help chart a path for deploying clean buses in cities around the world. The Summit came on the heels of the C40 Clean Bus Declaration, a commitment by 24 cities (and counting!) announced at the C40 Latin American Mayors Forum earlier this year, which seeks to deploy 40,000 clean buses in C40 cities around the world by 2020.

    Electric vehicle market accelerating in U.S. cities

    A new report shows that city action is revving the engine of the early electric vehicle market. The report – born from a collaboration between C40, the International Council on Clean Transportation, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, and the 11th Hour Project –catalogues actions cities, states and regions are taking to promote electric vehicle in an effort to better understand which practices are linked to electric vehicle sales.

    Momentum builds for ultra-low emission buses at global Clean Bus Summit

    Representatives and major bus manufacturers from around the world gathered at London City Hall today for the first-ever global Clean Bus Summit.

    This builds on the Global C40 Clean Bus Declaration, launched in Buenos Aires at the C40 Latin American Mayors Forum in March 2015.  Four additional C40 cities signed up to the Declaration at today’s summit, bringing the total to 24 world cities that have commited to rolling out 40,000 ultra-low emission buses by 2020.
