The Journal of City Climate Policy and Economy (JCCPE), in partnership with the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM), has announced two exciting opportunities for city policymakers, practitioners, and academics to contribute to the field of climate action research.
JCCPE, published in partnership with the University of Toronto Press, is part of the work of the C40 Centre for City Climate Policy and Economy. It offers timely, evidence-based research that contributes to the urban climate agenda and supports transformational governmental policy towards an equitable and resilient world.
JCCPE is inviting submissions for two forthcoming special issues focusing on City-Led Research and Innovation for Climate Action:
- August 2024: For this issue, JCCPE is calling for papers featuring and highlighting the priorities, opportunities and solutions city policymakers see and seek from research and innovation for climate action. These perspectives must be led by a city policy, decision-maker, or practitioner, and they can be collaborative with an academic colleague. Contributions of any article type specified in JCCPE’s instructions for authors are welcome, including commentaries and original research.
Submit abstracts or expressions of interest (up to 500 words, in English) by 20 December 2023, to cathy.oke@unimelb.edu.au, slewis@c40.org, or bjance@globalcovenantofmayors.org.
- August 2025: In this issue, JCCPE invites city academics to respond to city priorities, opportunities, and solutions – offering in-depth insights from existing knowledge or an original piece of research – highlighting what could be done to meet the knowledge gaps. While academics will mainly lead these papers, JCCPE welcomes collaboration with city policymakers and practitioners.
Submit your abstracts or expressions of interest (up to 500 words, in English) by October 2024 to slewis@c40.org, cathy.oke@unimelb.edu.au, or Shirin.Malekpour@monash.edu.
