Applications now open for C40 Cities Awards and Cities100 publication
Today, C40 and Scandinavian think tank Sustainia launched a global call for submissions to the C40 Cities Awards and Cities100 publication. All cities demonstrating leadership in taking climate action are encouraged to apply.
Cities will have three chances for global recognition: 100 solutions will be featured in a 2015 Cities100 publication, developed in partnership with Sustainia; from this group, 30 cities will be selected as C40 Cities Awards finalists, of which 10 will be announced as winners.
This year, the C40 Cities Awards are being held in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies and BYD. An Awards event will take place on December 3rd 2015 in Paris, to coincide with the UN climate change conference.
Mayors today are taking the lead in delivering innovative policies and programmes that reduce emissions and climate risks, building liveable and low carbon cities of the future. The C40 Cities Awards and Cities100 publication will celebrate cities and the solutions they are implementing. In doing so, we hope to inspire all cities around the world and catalyze more ambitious efforts by nations working to forge and implement a universal climate agreement.
City applications and third-party nominations must be submitted online by 17th August 2015. To find out more click here.
