Marta is the Director of Brand, Creative, and Digital Content. They lead C40 Cities’ global brand and content strategies to increase visibility, impact, and engagement across all platforms, and ensure consistency, quality, and reputational integrity. Together with the Managing Director of Communications and the Director of Strategic Communications, they provide senior leadership to the C40 communications team.
Before C40 Cities, Marta led digital communications teams for a range of mission-driven organisations, including Greenpeace UK and the Mayor of London. They are particularly interested in leveraging the zeitgeist (news cycle, political climate, cultural trends) for impact. They are based in London, UK.
As Global Leadership Manager, Marta supports the Inclusive Climate Action team in global advocacy efforts, showcasing mayoral leadership on equity and inclusivity. In her previous position as Women4Climate Manager, Marta supported cities in launching mentorship programmes and worked towards building a strong community of women delivering urban climate action. Prior to joining C40, Marta worked at the Women’s Environmental Network (Wen) as a Campaign Officer supporting their Environmenstrual campaign that raises awareness about plastic and harmful chemicals in mainstream period products. Marta graduated in International Development from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Her thesis looked at the nexus between public participation in urban greening projects in San José, Costa Rica and environmental justice.
Martha is Senior Technical Manager for Climate Action Planning, focussing on emissions mitigation. She provides expert assistance to cities with developing new climate action plans and evidence.
Before joining C40, Martha was a senior policy officer at the Greater London Authority. She prepared London’s annual greenhouse gas emissions inventory, developed new analytical tools and insights to support climate budgets and environmental strategy, and led the development of workshops and tools to advance social justice and equality goals in city programmes. She previously worked as a climate policy research consultant, supporting NGOs, industry advocates and local governments with climate action plans and strategy. She is a freelance writer, with a particular interest in the links between housing and climate crises.
Martha has a Masters degree in Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Martina serves as Senior Manager, Urban Heat Programmes at C40 Cities, where she manages and coordinates a range of projects across different geographies focused on advancing active and passive cooling solutions at the building and neighbourhood level. Her work supports cities in tackling urban heat and improving public health outcomes.
Previously, Martina was the Regional Engagement Manager for LATAM at the C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) and served as City Adviser for Buenos Aires under the C40 Climate Action Planning Programme, where she successfully delivered a Paris Agreement-compatible Climate Action Plan for the city. Prior to joining C40, Martina was Deputy Chief Resilience Officer at the Buenos Aires City Government, where she coordinated and managed the development of the first Resilience Strategy for the city. She also worked at the national level as Coordinator for International Organisations at the Secretariat of Civil Protection, Emergencies, and Catastrophes of the Argentinian National Government, where she was responsible for managing internationally funded disaster risk reduction projects in affected regions of Argentina.
She holds a degree in International Studies from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Buenos Aires) and an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she studied as a Chevening Scholar, awarded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Matheus is the Head of Urban Planning Implementation at C40, where he supports global programmes to integrate climate action into urban planning. He successfully launched the Climate Action Guide for Urban Planners and the C40 & UN-Habitat Urban Planning Accelerator, which involves over 30 signatory cities across all continents. Previously, Matheus served as C40’s Senior Manager at UrbanShift, training more than 3,000 individuals through online courses and workshops in Africa, Asia, and Latin America on climate planning and managing urban growth.
Matheus joined C40 in 2018 as City Adviser for Salvador, where he helped the city develop its first-ever climate action plan. Before C40, he led the FCDO’s Future Cities programme at the UK Embassy in Brazil. He holds a BA in International Relations (PUC-SP) and a Master’s degree in International Development (London School of Economics).
Matthew Stafford is the Content Officer for C40’s Knowledge Hub, where C40 captures and disseminates many of its key learnings, best practices, and unique insights into the political economy of climate change in cities.
Prior to joining C40, Matthew worked at Marchmont Communications, a London-based communications agency working with organisations tackling the most pressing international development and sustainability challenges. In this role he provided strategic communications, media, advocacy, and external engagement support to a range of international organisations and UN agencies throughout the world.
Previously Matthew was a freelance news writer for a start-up website where he covered developments in global politics, business, and technology. He holds a BA in History from the University of Cambridge.
Megan is C40’s Inclusive Climate Action (ICA) Project Officer within the Inclusion and Global Leadership team. In this role, she works across the team on issues such as climate migration, green jobs, and informality. She supports cities with technical assistance activities as well as knowledge production and dissemination, coordination, and reporting.
Before C40, Megan worked as an Oceans Researcher at the Environmental Justice Foundation, researching the link between human rights abuses and oceans/biodiversity degradation. She has held further positions at UNESCO and the Rights Lab, and holds a MSc in International Relations from the University of Nottingham, and a Master’s in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Paris.
Mete Coban MBE is the Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Energy, overseeing the Mayor’s world-leading climate action plan for the capital. Before becoming Deputy Mayor in July 2024, Mete was a Councillor and Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Environment, and Transport in the London Borough of Hackney, delivering a £61 million Green New Deal to tackle the climate crisis. He is best known for pioneering Hackney’s Community Energy Fund, providing clean, green, community-owned energy to 39 not-for-profits. Mete is widely credited with making politics more accessible to young people as the Founder of the youth-led charity My Life My Say. He led the Give an X voter registration campaign, which resulted in over 488,000 newly registered voters ahead of the UK General Election in July 2024. In the New Year’s 2020 Honours List, Mete received an MBE for services to young people, recognising his efforts to make politics and democracy more accessible to the younger generation. Mete also serves as a Trustee at the London Marathon Foundation and My Life My Say.
Michael O’Neill is Project Manager for C40’s Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods programme. Michael supports cities in using urban planning and urban design approaches at a neighbourhood scale to reduce emissions while also improving people’s quality of life, health and well-being.
Before joining C40, Michael worked as a Policy and Project Advisor at the City of Toronto, where he led the development of the City’s first standalone neighbourhood parks plan, which aims to ensure that everyone has access to high-quality greenspace within a 15-minute walk of their home. He also managed applications for sustainability and resilience-focused grant funding, coordinated his team’s relationship with the City Council, and co-developed an internal learning series on Indigenous topics in park planning. Before that, he worked as a transportation planning consultant, contributing to projects ranging from the development of complete street policies to plans for new subway lines.
Michael holds a Master of Urban Planning from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography from the University of Alberta.
Michael joined C40 in 2025 as an IT Projects Technician. He supports the delivery of IT projects, system administration, and continuous improvements to the organisation’s digital infrastructure. His work includes enhancing security systems, maintaining and monitoring IT tools, and helping design and deliver training sessions for staff.
Before joining C40, Michael spent over a decade at Apple in London, where he developed deep expertise in troubleshooting, hardware and software support, and customer-focused technical solutions. His roles included Genius and Business Expert at the flagship Apple Store Regent Street, where he was known for his problem-solving mindset and dedication to excellent service.
Mikkel Zinck Schrøder is C40’s Director of Climate Action Planning and Innovation and Head of the C40 Copenhagen office.
In his role as Director, he leads the Climate Action Planning and Innovation team, responsible for supporting all C40 cities in developing and adopting comprehensive climate action plans. These plans set measurable targets for emissions reduction and building resilience, providing the foundational framework for cities to address the climate crisis.
Based in Copenhagen, Mikkel also serves as the Head of the C40 office there. This includes managing daily operations and fostering ongoing collaboration with the strong coalition of Danish C40 funders and partners.
Before joining C40, Mikkel gained extensive experience in various areas, including city governance, international affairs, urban climate action, and cross-sectoral collaboration, through positions held at the City of Copenhagen and in private sector consultancy. He holds a Master of Business Administration and Psychology from Copenhagen Business School.
Miranda serves as a Programme Officer with C40’s Air Quality team. Based in New York City, she supports the overall coordination and delivery of the programme, ensuring the air quality work is connected with other C40 programmes and networks, and working with external collaborators.
Before joining C40, Miranda worked at various organisations where her work focused on the intersection of public health and the built environment. This included collecting data and research on housing factors and the impact that housing upgrades could have on disease prevalence and creating an interactive map of the City of Camden, NJ, to examine the quality and availability of green spaces and other community features. After college, she worked as an intern with New York City’s Office of Climate Policy and Programs.
Miranda holds a degree in Public Health from Tulane University and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Cities and Communities from Harvard University.
Nadav Bigelman is an urban planner specializing in transportation planning and policy analysis. Nadav has over a decade of experience in community organizing, nonprofit management, and conducting research for various human rights organizations.
Nadav holds an MS in Urban Planning from Pratt Institute in New York City and an MA in Public Policy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Recent research has focused on urban forests and green infrastructure in New York City, through analyzing street tree canopy coverage, its relation to socioeconomic indicators, and its impact on urban heat island effect.
Naomi Baster is currently Head of Transport Innovation and Technical Engagement, providing strategic direction on the C40 Transport program, including supporting team management and fundraising. She also serves as the expert lead on all transport content to support the delivery and update of C40 cities’ Climate Action Plans. Previously Naomi led on public transport at C40, supporting cities to make the case for and design policies that prioritise, improve and enhance public transport. She also co-led C40’s ‘The Future Is Public Transport’ campaign in collaboration with the International Transport Workers’ Federation.
Prior to joining C40, Naomi worked at Transport for London where she developed policies, strategies and projects that increased and improved walking, cycling and public transport journeys. She also has four years’ experience working in the UK Parliament and a BA in Economics and French.
Naomi is the Senior Strategic Content and Partnerships Manager. Prior to joining C40, Naomi worked as a Research Assistant to an environmental consultant on food and agriculture policy in the UK, with a particular focus on agroecology and grasslands as a nature-based solution to climate change. Naomi holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in English Literature and Spanish from the University of Birmingham. She is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
As C40’s City Engagement Manager for Air Quality, Natalia supports cities to take ambitious action to equitably improve air quality and health.
Natalia is an environmental engineer with expertise in emissions accounting, stakeholder engagement, and climate governance. She is particularly interested in integrating science-based solutions into urban climate action. She has worked with city governments and environmental authorities on climate planning, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory development and updates, and metropolitan climate governance processes. She is passionate about helping cities and regions accelerate climate goals through collaboration, technical guidance, and innovative environmental policies.
Before C40, Natalia was a focal point for international cooperation on climate initiatives in Medellín’s City Hall. She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from EIA University and an MSc in Biological Sciences from CES University. She is certified as an Urban Greenhouse Gas Inventory Specialist.
Neuni Farhad serves as Project Officer of Adaptation Research. She is responsible for identifying knowledge gaps in adaptation research and is currently working across several research projects to support cities in undertaking climate adaptation actions.
Before joining C40, Neuni completed her Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London. During this, she worked on urban risk resilience through project based in Lima, Peru assessing urban development in the city’s coastal area with a focus on transport and governance.
Neuni previously interned at the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change as an Economist, working across several policy teams to pass legislation and quantify benefits of energy and climate change policies. She has also previously worked in the UK NGO sector on Women’s livelihood and empowerment projects across countries in South Asia and Africa with UK based charity Global One.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and is fluent in Bengali.
Nicole Dixon serves as a Data Analyst in Monitoring and Evaluation in the Business Planning and Reporting Team. In this role, she is responsible for supporting data collection, storage, analysis and reporting across C40 in relation to our newly developed set of Key Performance Indicators to track the progress and impact of the C40 2021-2024 Business Plan.
Prior to joining C40, Nicole worked on various consultancy projects with European businesses and non-profits to incorporate the circular economy, shared value and sustainability strategies into their business models. She also worked and volunteered in rural South Korea to coordinate and teach English programmes to adults and school children.
Nicole holds an MSc in Sustainability Management from ESCP Business School and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town.
Nicolle Konai is the Senior Finance Manager, Zero Emission Buses. She coordinates the programme’s effort to structure new commercial models in key Latin American cities and supports partners on finance aspects, as well as leads the investor engagement effort in the region by developing a strategy to mobilise capital for e-bus projects.
Prior to joining C40, Nicolle worked in investment and portfolio management at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). She also worked at the World Bank and has experience in finance, operations, and capital mobilisation.
Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Nicolle holds a Master’s in Finance and Economics from FGV São Paulo and a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University (New York) and the University of Tokyo.
Nidhi Shashidhara serves as the Regional Partnerships Manager for North America at C40 Cities. In this role, she leads strategic collaboration across the region, focusing on delivering essential finance support to help cities navigate the transition toward clean energy and climate resilience. Nidhi also spearheads federal engagement efforts.
Prior to her joining C40, Nidhi was the Development Associate for the Institute for Sustainable Communities, where she secured federal, philanthropic, and corporate funding to scale local climate action across the organisation’s global programs. She began her career as a congressional campaign fundraiser, driving DC and national-level fundraising for progressive, pro-climate candidates.
Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Nidhi is now based in Washington, D.C.. She holds a Master’s in Sustainable Urban Planning from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies and Global Development Studies from Mercer University.
