About the project
The Air Quality in Climate Action Planning Project is a partnership between C40’s Air Quality Programme and leading experts in air quality, public health, and climate policy (from George Washington University, University of Washington, Boston University, University of Colorado, Boulder, University of Illinois, and independent consultants). The team has built new tools to evaluate how much policy interventions can reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants. The models also estimate how climate action can improve local air quality, benefit public health, and meet sustainability targets. C40 is piloting these approaches in 7 cities, working with city staff to create integrated air quality and climate action plans that demonstrate the links between climate action, air quality and local health improvement.
